They ask you to provide valuable personal information, including copies of your driver\u2019s licence and Medicare card.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 120%;\">During this time of heightened scam activity, the ATO is encouraging individuals and businesses to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 120%;\">Use multi-factor authentication where possible and don\u2019t share your password with anyone<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 120%;\">Run the latest software updates to ensure operating systems security is current<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 120%;\">Secure your private wi-fi network with passwords (not the default password) and do not make financial transactions when using public wi-fi networks<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 120%;\">Exercise caution when clicking on links and providing personal identifying information<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 120%;\">Only access online government services via an independent search \u2013 not via emails or SMS<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 120%;\">If in doubt, call the ATO on an<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 120%;\">independently sourced number to<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 120%;\">verify an interaction<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 120%;\">Educate your staff on cyber safety and<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 120%;\">scams.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 120%;\">To report a data breach or scam visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ato.gov.au\/general\/online-services\/online-security\/?=redirected_onlinesecurity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online security\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mnygroup.com.au\/\">www.mnygroup.com<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\"><em>This information has been prepared without taking into account your objectives, financial situation or needs.
